An implant is a small titanium screw inserted into the jawbone. Once the bone attaches firmly to the implant (osseointegration) a replacement tooth may be secured to top of the implant, or it in the case of multiple missing teeth, it can be used to firmly anchor a denture.
Our patients have commented that their implants look, feel and function like natural teeth. In many cases they allow improved taste and appetite and improved cosmetic appearance over the use of simple removable dentures. When used to secure a complete overdenture, patients report an improved ability to chew without pain or gum irritation and improved quality of life
"This is a lovely practice and always very welcoming. I recently had an implant fitted by Dr Jens Wille and everything was fully explained and provided. Excellent!' GS May 2017
What to consider when having Dental Implants?
Not all implant treatment is the same. Important factors are the experience and training of the surgeon and their personal track record of providing implant treatment, the quality of the implant system used and the long-term commitment offered to the patient to ensure appropriate monitoring, maintenance advice and prompt help if there are any complications.
Why choose Eynsham Dental Care for your dental implants?
Experience and Expertise
Our Implant dentist, Jens Wille has done additional training through the University of Warwick. He has over a decade experience in the surgical placement and restoration of implants and has been working with our team since 2009. He is an active member in an Oxford implant study group.
Impressive Success Rates.
Jens has an outstanding success rate with his dental implant treatment. He has formally audited the patients he has treated over the last 10 years and has had a 96% success rate for first time osteointegration, i.e. the success of the implant successfully integrating with the bone.
Our patients also have a notably low incident of long-term complications. Peri-implantitis is the main complication and cause of implants to fail long term. It is an infection and inflammation which can destroy the bone supporting an implant. The best way to prevent peri-implantitis from developing is to maintain impeccable oral health. Our team provide the careful monitoring and advice necessary to help patients to keep their implants healthy in the long term.
We use only leading implant materials
A large number of cheap copy-cat implant have become common. Most do not have the same track record, levels of production, or the necessary clinical, biological and laboratory research to guarantee a long-term result. We only use Straumann, a world leader in implant technology with 60 years of research and scientific back up.
Trusted Local laboratory
Similarly we have been working with the same skilled local laboratory for over 10 years. They have a trusted track-record and put things right if they aren’t just perfect first time.
Gentle and Reassuring
We often hear negative comments about discomfort and post-operative complications from patients who have had implants done elsewhere. We want to reassure patients that that is certainly not the response we get from patients under our care. With over 10 years of patient feedback (including from family members) we know our patients are in very safe and gentle hands.
Our patients can trust in the familiar faces, surrounding and know our reputation.
With us, it is a very personal service, with our familiar long-standing nurses providing chairside assistance for your implant treatment.
Long term follow-up and maintenance is important for successful implant treatment. We work as a team to ensure our implants patients receive proper long- term monitoring and maintenance and if there are any hiccups, we will do all we can to put things right.
We offer the convenience of our refurbished facilities, with easy parking and Saturday morning Implant clinics
At Eynsham Dental Care we use Straumann implants, the highest quality available, and work hand in hand with the best dental laboratories in the UK.
