Coronavirus information March 2020

Looking After Our Community During the Coronavirus Outbreak.

During the Coronavirus outbreak we will be doing all we can to help protect our community and continue to provide you with dental care.

We carry out strict cross infection measures in our surgeries routinely. We disinfect surfaces after every patient.  Our instruments are sterilised between patients and anything that can not be sterilised is single use. These measures are designed to destroy pathogens including viruses. Our team are highly trained and experienced and are used to carrying out this stringent measures on each and every time you attend for an appointment.

On top of our strict routine procedures we have put additional  procedures in place  for the protection of our patients and staff.

We have removed toys and magazines and our information folders from the waiting rooms to aid additional cleaning of our communal areas.

Everyone, including patients, are asked to clean their hands the premises.

When our patients receive their routine courtesy reminder phone call the day before their appointment they will be asked not to attend if they have any symptoms or are in close contact with anyone who is ill. There are posters at the entrance door also with this message.  Staff are  monitoring their temperature and are asked not attend if they or family members have even mild symptoms. Thus we aim to absolutely minimise the risk of the virus being brought into the practice.

In the event of our clinicians becoming ill we have contingency plans to ensure you can receive emergency care. We suggest if you have not yet booked any outstanding treatment and are well, you may want to consider having this done promptly.

If you have any concerns or are in a higher risk category  (underlying cardiovascular disease, diabetes or respiratory disease or are over 70) please feel to be able to call and talk to our team.

We are monitoring the most up to date advice from professional sources on a daily basis.

The World Health Organisation has some helpful information on their website. They ask us to be Smart, inform ourselves and follow the latest advice from credible sources and avoid rumours. Show empathy and kindness to those at risk and infected and avoid any stigma around infection. They have practical advice on how to protect yourself and dispel some of the myths.
